Committee of 100 YP Sponsors Rock the Vote '08

More than 300 young professionals and about 50 local candidates attended the Committee of 100 YP's Rock the Vote event on April 17 at the Huntsville Depot Roundhouse. Local young professionals talked with candidates about local political issues, registered to vote, changed their voting addresses and learned more about the 2008 local elections.

Attendees at theRock the Vote event also enjoyed jazz and blues music by Abstract while feasting on hot dogs, BBQ chicken, potato salad, baked beans and a variety of beverages.

The Committee of 100 sponsored the event organized by its YP members to engage local young professionals in the 2008 elections. The large attendance also demonstrated to local candidates and elected leaders the strength and importance of the young professional vote and the issues that concern that group.
