Huntsville Committee of 100 Announces New Young Professional Program Members

Huntsville, AL (February 11, 2021) — The Huntsville Committee of 100 has selected 10 new members to join its Young Professional Program of 50 local young professionals active in civic and community leadership as well as political issues.

Founded in 1995, the Huntsville Committee of 100 is made up of 275 CEO’s and community leaders. The organization focuses on long- term economic development, high-quality public education and cooperative local government.  The Huntsville Committee of 100 Young Professional Program was formed in October 2006 for young professionals under 40. The mission of the program is to serve as a catalyst for young leaders through collaboration, training, and civic engagement.

The 50 members of the Huntsville Committee of 100 Young Professional Program have bi-monthly programs on economic development, public education and local politics.  They also attend meetings and forums with the full Huntsville Committee of 100 membership and receive one-on-one mentoring. Young Professional members attend local government meetings and receive training in running a political campaign as well as being an effective board member. Every other year the group hosts Rock the Vote, an event aimed at connecting Young Professionals with elected leaders and those seeking office. 

DJ Klein, Chairman of the Huntsville Committee of 100 Young Professionals Program said, “We are thrilled to welcome these local emerging leaders to our program. We always seek to expand the depth and diversity of our group and our newest members are a great representation of that goal.”
